I’ve been there. Post Traumatic Stress robbed me of what should have been some of the best years of my life. I believed that no one could understand. I thought that I could figure it out on my own. I isolated myself from everyone, including my own family. I let the stress build up to a breaking point where I thought the only way out was to take my own life. And then I had a breakthrough.

It takes the same amount of courage to ask for help as it takes to run into a burning building or take a bullet. I knew how to do the two former things from my training. I realized that I had to make the choice to be courageous enough to ask for help when I found myself feeling anxious and stressed.
